On the road through West Virginia...

Philip and I left Ocracoke on New Year's Eve to celebrate First Night in Williamsburg with Molasses Creek. This is such a wonderful event with over 30 venues of artists. We bought our buttons and went from the gospel sing at the Baptist Church to the rec hall for the Schnitzel Band and, of course, back and forth to hear Molasses Creek. Fireworks were at midnight and then back to the hotel to crash!

We traveled the next two days through the mountains to come back home to Indiana. We took a different route deep into the coal mining area. On New Year's night the fog and rain drifted down over the mountains so we stopped in a little town for the night. The above is a photo of the veil of fog seeping into the mountains.

We made it back to cold, but clear, Indiana and settled back into life in the Midwest. Philip is staying just another week before back home to his Island.
